Having used Sage X3 as their core solution since 2014, TIMco have grown from 16.5 to 35 million turnover.
TIMco are a fast growing, global wholesale and distributor of screws, fixings and fastenings. The key to their business success has been through constantly growing their product range in response to customer demand. This not only increases their current customer’s range of choice, but also enables them to attract and grow into new markets.
With such a fast moving business strategy, TIMco rely on technology to be able to deliver this service as efficiently as possible. Their technology vision is to use all "Best of Breed" applications and processes in order to enable the business to grow as far as possible.
Paul Shore, Operations Director, explains further, “in my opinion technology should be an enabler to grow efficiently and effectively, with no restrictions. Systems shouldn’t be a bottle neck, they should enhance and encourage business growth. It is a combination of great people, great processes and great technology that has enabled us to achieve our vision.”
Sage X3 Platform for Growth
lies at the heart of TIMco’s technology infrastructure. Due to the solutions flexibility, TIMco have been able to interface with any product they want. This has allowed the company to achieve a “Best of Breed” suite of applications, enabling them to manage the business in the most efficient way possible.
TIMco have interfaced Sage X3 with PIM (Product Information Management), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Warehouse Management and reporting solutions. Paul continues, “By using Sage X3 as the core and backbone to our technology infrastructure we have been able to implement best practises across the board through bespoke integrations. This is only possible as Sage X3 is so flexible, which in turn has allowed our business to flourish.”
With Sage X3 TIMco are equipped with a solution for the future. For TIMco it was key that their solution could handle:
- Multiple currencies, TIMco purchase products from across the world
- Complex pricing structures, such as buying groups
- Strict quality control rules
- Landed costs, which can be difficult to calculate margins on but is all managed in X3
- Freight and duty calculations
Sage X3 handles all of this with ease and ensures the flow of information through the entire system, right to shipping the goods out to the customer. “X3 encourages our business growth rather than limiting it, we are able to plan for the next 5 years and grow without restriction.” Paul expands further, “Sage X3 is another level of ERP, it is much more functionally rich and scalable. X3 never restricts, rather it enhances our business’s capabilities and allows us to service our customers better.”
TIMco and Mysoft
TIMco had been using Sage X3 for a number of years prior to partnering with Mysoft. They have a vast amount of in-house knowledge and bespoke developments that the company had created themselves. As the business grew they started to need more complex interfaces and developments, they also wanted to ensure that their own bespoke work could be supported and underwritten in order to future proof their solution. This is where Mysoft, as a Sage X3 specialist
, came in.
Paul explains why they decided to Partner with Mysoft, “with Mysoft we felt that they not only had the skills and knowledge to support our own developments, but that they had the experience to actually push us even further forward with our use of Sage X3. As a smaller company we felt that we would receive a much more personal service from Mysoft, which suits us much better.
They have a lot of experience with bespoke developments and with interfacing Sage X3 to other products which was really important for us. You can tell that they have significantly greater depth of Sage X3 knowledge as the team have worked solely with the solution for over 10 years, many since the Adonix days! It was that depth of knowledge and range of experience that was key for us when choosing a Partner.”
