Lizzie and Liz out for their training runs
Mysoft have chosen The Stroke Association as many of the team’s family and friends have been effected by the condition. Hayley, Mysoft’s Finance Assistant and part of the Mysoft Runners team, comments on her own personal experience, “A stroke is something that can happen to anyone of any age and sometimes without any warning. It not only changes that person’s life but affects the whole family. Sadly not everyone survives and I know this only too well when 4 years ago our family’s lives were turned upside down and we lost my Mum at the age of only 54. This charity is close to my heart and I would like to raise as much money as I can to help with the research, awareness and support the charity provides.''
The Stroke Association is the UK’s leading stroke charity. Funds raised will go towards improving stroke care and investing in research to ensure there are as many survivors as possible. Any donation, large or small, will make a huge difference, so please donate now
The Mysoft Runners have been training hard, even getting out running in the snow and pitch black evenings! The team is made up of Hayley West from Finance, Sean Hewson and Rosemary Weineck from Support, Lizzie Annett from Marketing and Liz Parker from Consultancy. Raising as much money as possible is keeping the team going, running through the sore feet, aching legs and freezing hands! The half marathon is a real challenge for all our runners, it will be the first time Hayley, Rosemary and Liz have completed this distance so is a huge under taking, and will be a massive achievement for all involved.
The Great Mysoft Bake Off
The Mysoft team have all been taking part in the fund raising effort, including a great turn out for the Mysoft Bake Off. The theme for the Bake Off was pastry and Martin came top of the leader board with his delicious Nonna’s Tart. Everyone at Mysoft was more than happy to take part in the tasting and judging, raising a fantastic £255 in one day to put towards the Half Marathon total.
The Sage Reading Half Marathon takes place on March 17th
with an amazing finish line inside the Madejski Stadium. The course takes in all the highlights of Reading city centre as well as the University campus, it is a great race with huge crowd support, including other members of the Mysoft team who will be there cheering our runners round the route!
