ACO Group - Implementation

They have been providing quality solutions for every application for over 60 years. The Group has 31 production sites located over 4 continents and employs 3500 staff worldwide.

ACO Technologies plc. is the UK division of The ACO Group. It was established in 1984 and is based in Shefford, Bedfordshire. ACO Technologies develops innovative products that are supported by a comprehensive design and after sales service.

The Challenge

The time had come for ACO to move away from their legacy version of X3 to the current version.

ACO’s existing technology was no longer fit for purpose. With hundreds of thousands of records to update and maintain, they were experiencing performance, security and capacity issues.

ACO also wanted to update their manufacturing process and there was a requirement to use Materials Requirement Planning (MRP).

The project also carried two additional challenges. ACO needed the transition to cause the minimum of disruption to their business – the upgrade would need to be seamless and all this had to be planned and delivered within a very tight timeframe.

The Solution

Mysoft and ACO had a successful, existing working relationship and ACO was keen to have Mysoft involved with this new project.

The levels of expertise within the team enabled Mysoft to fulfil all of ACO’s requirements including the design of a bespoke modification to allow MRP to run at ACO’s Shefford site.

The two companies began discussions in March 2011. Mysoft undertook the project review shortly afterwards and the project commenced at the end of May. Mysoft and the team at ACO continued to work extremely well together. ACO contributed greatly to the smooth planning and implementation of the project through their excellent levels of ownership, project management and thorough UAT. This all resulted in the project going live in October 2011, just 5 months after the start date and right on schedule.
