Cindercone Overview

Cindercone offers comprehensive integration solutions for Sage X3 ERP systems. Their services are designed to streamline data flow and automate business processes, enhancing efficiency and productivity.

Cindercone’s flagship product, the Magma Integration Platform. As an central integration toolkit, Magma enables your business to manage a diverse range of line-of-business integrations including EDI, 3PL, WMS, Ecommerce, from a single toolset.. Using the same core system, Magma can handle the many messages required between X3 and these other business systems, providing consistency and confidence in the automation of data interchange.

The Magma platform has been providing business benefits to Sage customers since 2002. Based on the challenges of a single customer using Sage Line 500, the brains behind Magma used their experience of EDI and XML technologies to produce a solution that met the needs of that customer. This has since grown and evolved over time to incorporate a wider ecosystem of solutions and integration types, and the product has developed in line with technological advancements across the market.

While the technology behind Magma has evolved – as have many of the apps and processes used to drive our customers forward – the principle is the same today as it was in the beginning: to improve efficiency and increase productivity across the business space through systems integration. No matter what systems they use, no matter what product they are selling, Magma ensures our customers’ efficiency at every step of the business process.

DATA FORMATS

EDI

Still a highly-used protocol for data exchange, multiple EDI systems are supported in full by the Magma toolkit, including:

Tradacoms – mainly UK
Edifact / EANCOM – global, mainly Europe
Ansi X12 – global, mainly US

XML

Originally developed to move a customer from a partner using EDI to one using XML-based messaging, Magma has since expanded to support any XML format, standard or bespoke.
Both human and machine readable, Magma can quickly adapt XML to new custom formats used by your partners; such as cXML, Basda eBIS-XML, SAP IDOC, custom formats, or a combination of each.

JSON

Used by most, but not limited to, RESTful Web Services, JavaScript Object Notation – or, JSON – helps move data between server and web page. Again, this is both machine and human readable, supported in full by Magma.

Delimited

These text files are simple to define, with commas (.csv) the most common, although a delimiter can be any agreed character e.g. the pipe, semi colon, and tab.
Delimited files are bespoke in nature, with Magma able to build in a definition at speed to make sense of its contents.

Fixed Width Flat Files

These file types include a line with a label, and information in agreed positions.
There will be a definition document explaining the structure
Fixed Width Flat Files are always bespoke, with Magma able to build a definition quickly to understand the data therein.

Microsoft Excel

Extremely common for managing bespoke formats, clients design templates in Excel to store multiple types of data including Sales Orders.
Again, Excel files are bespoke and simple for Magma to understand through a definition built in

Database

Where necessary, Magma is capable of interacting directly with internal and external databases using CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete)
