Reflections from Sage Future 2025: AI and Finance’s Next Chapter

From June 11–13, a few of us from the Mysoft team – Jamie Watts, Natalie Pilgrim, Chris Schafer, Brian Martin, and Harry Wilde – attended Sage Future 2025 in Atlanta. The event brought together Sage partners, customers, and product leaders to explore what’s next for ERP, finance transformation, and the evolving role of technology in building high-performance businesses.

More than just a product showcase, this year’s event set out a confident, future-facing roadmap – one where AI, trust, and strategic finance leadership take centre stage.

A Clear AI Vision: Beyond Automation, Towards Intelligence

AI has been a consistent theme in Sage’s recent updates, but in Atlanta, it took a decisive leap forward. This wasn’t about flashy tools or theoretical futures – it was about real, usable intelligence embedded into the ERP systems finance teams already rely on.

Sage’s CTO, Aaron Harris, outlined a three-wave model for AI in finance:
Wave 1 – Automation: Repetitive tasks like invoice entry and data matching.
Wave 2 – Copilot: Conversational AI that guides users and surfaces insights.
Wave 3 – Agentic AI: A longer-term vision of semi-autonomous systems, with humans staying firmly “in the loop”.

There was also a strong emphasis on governance and trust. Sage introduced its new AI Trust Label, covering data privacy, bias safeguards, explainability, and ethical use – a move that positions them ahead of many ERP vendors in the race for responsible AI adoption.

Sage Intacct: AI-Powered and Future-Ready

Sage Intacct featured prominently at Sage Future 2025, with announcements that showed AI is now embedded into its evolution. Key highlights included:

  • Close Workspace – a smart, AI-driven space to streamline the period-end process.

  • Cash Flow Intelligence – predictive analytics to support working capital decisions.

  • Continuous Assurance – automation across financial reporting workflows.

  • Copilot Developer Tools – enabling partners and clients to build their own AI use cases.

These developments signal a clear move towards making finance workflows smarter, faster, and more predictive.

Sage X3: AI Brings New Momentum

For Sage X3, the big news was the launch of Copilot for Sage X3 – a conversational interface bringing natural language interaction to core operational processes. Users will soon be able to ask questions across inventory, fulfilment, and accounts payable, and get real-time, intelligent responses directly within the platform.

It marked a real shift in tone for X3. After a couple of quieter years, Sage X3 was front and centre at the event – featured in keynotes, roadmap sessions, and lively partner discussions. The energy around X3 was noticeably back, with AI breathing new life into its vision for high-performance operations.

X3CloudDocs: Visibility, Validation, and Value

The event also marked a standout week for X3CloudDocs. Our booth attracted a steady stream of visitors, with Brian Martin delivering back-to-back demos across our PIA, SOA, and EDM modules to interested Sage partners and prospective users.

There were some great moments throughout the week that included:
– Personal endorsements from senior Sage figures who brought new prospects to our stand.
– Strong feedback from partners such as NetAtWork, NexTec, and RKL – particularly around our ease of implementation and trusted support.
– Clear differentiation from Sage’s native AP offering – especially in terms of automation, usability, and long-term reliability.

There’s no doubt that X3CloudDocs is becoming a recognised part of the X3 ecosystem, and events like Sage Future help reinforce its value in the wider ERP conversation.

Culture, Content and High Performance

Another strong theme was the idea of the “High-Performance Finance Team” – not just in terms of tools, but in mindset, leadership, and digital readiness. Sage’s upcoming CFO Academy (delivered via Sage University) will offer learning paths focused on strategic thinking, resilience, and innovation – all of which align with how we see the future of finance evolving.

It was also refreshing to see a broader focus on performance across sales, support, and delivery. The message was clear: as partners, our growth depends not only on the tools we offer, but the way we enable success for our customers, colleagues, and communities.

For the Mysoft team, Sage Future 2025 wasn’t just an opportunity to learn – it was a chance to contribute, connect, and come away energised about the future.

Whether it was the constant buzz around the X3CloudDocs booth, insightful conversations with Sage leaders about the future of ERP, or simply the chance to think more expansively about what finance can become, it’s clear we’re at the beginning of something exciting.

We left Atlanta with one message ringing loud and clear: The future of ERP is AI-powered, trust-driven, and performance-focused, and Mysoft is ready to lead from the front.
