Crescent Pharma is the latest company to join Mysoft's Sage X3 customer base.

Crescent Pharma expand Mysoft’s already extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry having implemented Sage X3 for Atnahs Pharma and Waymade PLC. The company previously used Sage 200 but were outgrowing the systems capabilities in terms of complexity and compliance.

As they were already familiar with the Sage brand and the employees were accustomed to using a Sage system it made sense to upgrade to Sage’s flagship solution; Sage X3. When it came to choosing a Business Partner Crescent Pharma decided on Mysoft due to their extensive experience in the pharma industry and their higher levels of knowledge, understanding and service.

The Story

Crescent Pharma began looking into new ERP systems as their requirements outgrew the functionalities of Sage 200. Crescent Pharma and their sister company Crescent Pharma OTC manufacture and distribute both licensed (prescription only) and non-licensed (over the counter) medicines and medical devices. The majority of their business comes from generic, i.e. not trademarked and generally unbranded, solid dose medicines. They also manufacture various oral solutions and niche products, as well as acting as a distributor for a number of other brands.

With a new manufacturing site and more complex legislation coming into force, they needed a more flexible and expandable system. With headquarters in Overton, near Basingstoke, and a number of manufacturing and distribution sites around the country they needed a system capable of multi-site management and one that had flexibility when looking at new market opportunities. This kind of added complexity is something that Sage 200 does not cater for but that Sage X3 can manage simply due to the depth of its standard functionality.

Why Sage X3?

All users were comfortable and familiar with using Sage and the company also knew that Sage would be able to integrate with their existing systems. Sage X3 will provide Crescent with a fully integrated solution that will cut down on time and costs, minimise mistakes and provide a base for the company’s future growth. The level of detail that Sage X3 can hold was also very important, in terms of quality control and enhanced financial control. The modern user interface was also very attractive to Crescent, running through any browser means that they will no longer have to spend time on individual user installs.

Why Mysoft?

Alex Wateridge, part of Crescent Pharma’s Quality Assurance team, explains, “we spoke to a number of Business Partners but we just felt that Mysoft understood us more than any other. They were very knowledgeable and had extensive experience in our industry, including Waymade, who were a great reference and showed us that Mysoft had the right knowledge and a good bench mark for us to start working from. Mysoft asked us all the right questions and with their combination of knowledge and experience we knew that they were the right partner to choose.”
